Our IRB Homeowner's Boat Club has over 200 members!

Some Facts About Our Club

Our primary goal is to have fun while we enjoy the water and
the great community we live in!
  • Our Meetings are on the third Thursday of the month at Jimmy Guana's at the Holiday Inn 6pm Happy Hour with the meeting at 7pm.
  • We are open to residents, non-residents and businesses
  • Non-boat owners may also participate - they can help defray the cost of gas as they ride along
  • Most of our communications will be through email, so we need up-to-date addresses, email us if you would like to join.
In addition to island cook-outs and boating parties, we are going to be involved in some waterway clean-ups, Christmas and Veterans Day boat parades, and other activites club member suggest. If you have an idea, suggestions regarding our activities or want to volunteer to help plan an event, email boatclub@irbhome.com.

Our Club helped to make this one of the best lighted boat parades that Indian Rocks Beach has ever had!
Our Club's boat won:
First Place: Indian Rocks Beach Lighted Boat Parade
First Place: Indian Shores - Redington Lighted Boat Parade
2nd Place: Clearwater - Island Estates Lighted Boat Parade

Pictured to the right are our hosts John and Joannie Pickens with the boat before the first parade.

Sunday, December 7th, our club participated
in the Indian Rocks Beach Street Parade

Thanks to Karen and George Laufenburger for
donating their boat and driving in the parade!

Saturday, November 8th the club participated in the Madeira Beach Veteran's Boat Parade
John Pickens volunteered his boat for the day, and members of the club decorated it on Thursday and Friday. Riding on the boat were Staff Sergeant Mikey Gibbons, part of the special Air Force "820th Security Forces Group", Moody Air Force Base, Georgia and six of his military friends (some active and some inactive) with their significant others. Staff Sergeant Gibbons has been deployed on four tours to Iraq in the past four years. His official residence is Indian Rocks Beach and we are all very proud of the sacrifice he has made for his country. The boat won third place in its category.

Saturday September 13th
Our Island cook out and sunset celebration was a huge success. We had about 25 boats with close to 100 people attending! The food was great and the weather was wonderful. Everyone agreed it was a perfect evening and we will definitely do it again! See the photos of this wonderful evening here. There were so many we made a full page of them

Friday August 1st.
We had 30 or so people attend our first event, dinner at The Pub. Unfortunately, the extreme low tides and inclement weather kept some people at home. All and all though, it was a great first start.

Wednesday, July 16th
Our first meeting was held. Thank you to everyone that came out. We had a lot of enthusiasm for the organization with about 40 people attending. We will continue to hold our meetings at Marlin Time/Brewmasters. Mark, the manager of the Marlin, will be providing appetizers for the happy hour portion of our meetings. Meetings will be held on the third Thursday of the month. We all agreed we don't need to have an actual meeting every month and will average 6-9 meetings a year. Some meetings will have guest speakers.
